StarGazing 101 - Home
Next Meeting:
Friday, July 25th 2008, at 7:00 - 9:00pm
Location:
Zehrs Community Room- Laurentian Power Centre
The Stargazing 101 group was formed by K-W RASC members to provide a forum for people new to the hobby of astronomy and to promote visual observation. The group is open to the public, but if your interest is genuine the benefits of joining the K-W RASC will soon become apparent. We have been meeting monthly since March 2003 on the fourth friday of each month, usually in the Community Room at the Zehrs on Ottawa and Strasburg in Kitchener. When weather permits, we hold observing sessions after the meeting. Other observing sessions, planned and unplanned, are held at various times and locations (follow the Observing link for maps). Topics include discussions about equipment, sky topics, observing techniques, books, and resources. We have three lending telescopes (2 - 8" Skywatcher Dobsonians and 1 - 5" Skywatcher on an equatorial mount) available to qualified members.
