Director of Religious Education
for Children and Youth
Deadline for applications:
April 30, 2008
First Unitarian Congregation of Waterloo is a liberal religious
community serving the Waterloo region. We recently celebrated our
50th birthday and, in December 2007, moved to a new location in
Kitchener. We are a community of diverse beliefs and shared
values, as articulated by the statement of purposes and principles
adopted by the Canadian Unitarian Council. (See http://www.cuc.ca/newcomers/principles.htm)
We seek a part time Director of Religious Education (DRE) for children
and youth who will work in collaboration with the Minister and
Children’s Religious Education committee to ensure that First
Unitarian provides excellent programs for children and
youth.
We are looking for someone with a passion for learning and helping
children and youth explore life’s big questions. The person
we seek is not necessarily a Unitarian Universalist, but must be
in sympathy with our values and willing to learn more about our
denomination. The DRE will have the opportunity to work with a
vital community of children, youth and their families in a
growing congregation.
The position averages 15 hours per week. The salary is $18 per
hour. For more information see the detailed job description
posted on our congregation’s web site: http://waterloo.unitarians.ca.
