East Elgin Sportsman Association Rifle Programs |
Senior Rifle:Our Senior rifle squad meet Thursday evenings commencing at 7pm. Participants use match style .22 rifles in the indoor range and regularly compete in area matches in the Monarch League (Be sure to contact a member prior to coming out as they may be at an away match). Shooters compete in multiple position shooting using the indoor range. Standard Range Fees apply.
Junior Rifle:The EESA junior rifle program is open to members as well as to the general public. This program is offered on Friday nights commencing at 6pm starting on the first Friday in January and ending at the end of April. The club provides several club owned.22 rimfire rifles for use as well individuals can provide their own appropriate models (aperture sights are required). Shooters are provided training in the safe handling and firing of firearms and can compete on various levels to obtain progressive badges. Past Junior members have competed with distinction in both the Ontario and Canada Games. A $6 fee includes both targets and ammunition for junior members. Guests are required to pay an additional $1 to cover insurance costs and are limited to 3 guest visits. Junior memberships are $10 and include a periodical newsletter. Age limitations are 8 to 18 years of age. Several certified coaches are present at each event to ensure both the safety and training of the participants. Several of our junior members are selected each year to participate at local and national competitions. EESA is justifiably proud of the success of this program, which has generated several medalists over the years.
Outdoor rifle:With the building of our new outdoor rifle ranges we anticipate a marked increase in the use of our outdoor ranges for organized purposes and events. Possible events include, bench rest, Egg shoots, Pumpkin shoots, 3 gun IPSC completions.
